Each spring for its Mid-Season Masterworks performance, The Virginia Consort expands its membership by inviting qualified singers to join them in presenting a major work from the choral-orchestral repertoire. Past performances include Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, Brahms Requiem, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Franz Joseph Haydn's Mass In Time of War, and Gloria by Poulenc. The 2010-2011 season’s principal work will be the monumental Verdi Requiem and will be performed on Sunday, March 6th, 2011 at 3:30 pm in UVA's Cabell Hall.
