Each spring for its Mid-Season Masterworks performance, The Virginia Consort expands its membership by inviting qualified singers to join them in presenting a major work from the choral-orchestral repertoire. Past performances include Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, Brahms Requiem, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Franz Joseph Haydn's Mass In Time of War, and Gloria by Poulenc.

The 2011-2012 Mid-Season Masterworks Concert will highlight The Three B's: Music of Bach, Brahms, and Beethoven, including Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, featuring Canadian pianist John Mayhood as guest soloist, with full orchestra. The concert will be on Sunday, March 4th, 2012 in UVa's Cabell Hall.
